Tell us the height and what's around the tree on the phone and we can quote you a typical range, then firm it up on site.
What drives the cost
Height and working space set the price. Removing a tree up to 30 feet runs $1,200 to $2,400. Complete stump removal is a separate job at $125 to $175 so decide up front whether you want the stump gone or just the tree.
A tree taller than 30 feet falls outside that range, and we price it after looking at it. A tree beside a house, fence or garage takes more time than one standing in open yard, because every cut has to be placed so nothing lands where it shouldn't.

Power lines and rigging
We keep at least 10 feet of clearance from power lines. If a tree sits where we can't hold that distance, the utility has to de-energize and ground the lines before we cut, so tell us on the first call if wires run through or near the canopy.
Before any cutting, we decide whether the tree needs rigging to lower sections and whether our crew can use it safely on that site. We also mark a retreat path for the ground crew to use if the tree falls the wrong way. The saw work is done with a chainsaw, and the plan above decides how the tree comes apart.

Flood maps and storm drains
The St. Johns River and overland flow from the east are the city's main flood sources, so if the tree is near a waterway, check the property's flood-map status before planning the work.
We don't leave cut brush or debris where it can end up in a drain or basin.
Getting your number
Call with the approximate height, how close the tree is to the house and any wires, and whether the stump is coming out too. That is enough for a ballpark from the ranges above, and the final price follows our visit to the tree.
If you're unsure whether the tree has to come down at all, say so on the call and we'll give you a straight opinion on site.
